"I have been here 5 to 7 times with my friends. As of date, this is the only place we have found that sells buff and has a taste that reminds me (and my Malayali frnd) of Kerala/home. The experience has changed The first few visits feel special because the food stands out right away. But after that honeymoon period, you will notice that its an average entry. The must tries here are Pothu (buff) fry, Pothu roast, Pothu curry with parotta and puttu. If you don't eat Buff, you can have the chicken options. The pothu bitiyani they sell on Sunday's is average. Lunch is the best time to come to this place. Once when we went for dinner and had Mathi (fish) fry, and pothu roast and it tasted like it was leftovers from lunch. It wasn't bad, but you could tell. Overall this place stays on our list because the food can feel close to home, especially the buff dishes and the price is very reasonable."

Owned by a lovely old Malayali couple (ikka and ithha), the place serves authentic Kerala dishes that will bring back memories of your hometown. If you’re craving traditional Kerala food, this is the place to be. The "puttu" and chicken curry are my absolute favorites here – simple, flavorful, and just like home. The owners are warm and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. The restaurant is located on the first floor, and while the dine-in space is limited, it’s still worth a visit. The prices are fair, not too cheap or too expensive, making it accessible for a variety of budgets. Don’t expect a fancy, high-end ambiance – it’s a simple, no-frills restaurant that focuses on delivering authentic, homely food rather than luxurious décor. If you’re in Ahmedabad and miss Kerala food, I highly recommend visiting this place. It’s a hidden gem that truly brings the flavors of home."

"Google maps location is quite accurate. Restaurant is on the first floor. Look for a Malayalam signboard once you reach the location or ask around. Akbar bhai moved to Ahmedabad decades back. He started this restaurant 15 years ago. He's got a limited menu (predominantly non veg, he's got meals / thali too) and does biryani on weekends. Open for lunch and dinner. Limited seating spaces. Luckily there's an AC in the dining hall. Akbar bhai is a one man show. He will take your order, make it and serve it to you too. His face lights up if he finds out you are a Malayalee. And he's happier if you like the food and return next time ;) I went with a Mallu friend who approved of the taste. Don't miss out on ordering the Puttu (was served pipping hot, too delicious, forgot to click a picture). UPI payment accepted."
