"The food delivers what it promises—authentic Kerala flavours with no shortcuts. The spices are well-balanced, and you can actually taste the difference between freshly ground masala and mass-produced gravy.the beef curry had depth instead of just heat, and the kappa was soft with the right amount of fluff. They clearly know what they’re doing in the kitchen.
Where they fall short is consistency and pace. Service can drag, and sometimes dishes don’t arrive together, which kills the flow of the meal. The ambience is functional, not impressive—more “come, eat, go” than “sit and unwind.” Prices are slightly on the higher side for the portion size, but not unreasonable.
If you want real Kerala food without gimmicks, this place is worth it. Just don’t expect top-tier polish in service or atmosphere."
"The food is good. I bought beef gravy the meat is so tender, soft and well cooked I really appreciate it. But it will be
better if improve in taste and it is a little too spicy. Other than that barotta is very good. Not bad"

"I recently visited this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The taste was excellent, and the dishes felt homemade, which I really appreciated. Having dined at most of the restaurants in this area, I can say the quality here definitely stands out.
One thing I noticed is that the gravy dishes are priced a bit on the higher side—around ₹250—while other restaurants in the area charge between ₹120–₹150 for similar items. Considering that the restaurant is open-air (without air conditioning), it’s comfortable in winter, but it could get quite warm in summer.
If the prices were slightly more reasonable, I’d likely make it a regular spot. Even so, the food quality makes it worth visiting occasionally. I hope they consider adjusting the prices—then this could easily become one of the top restaurants in the area."

"Puttum Kuttiyum is my go-to place for authentic Malabar food. It's the only Malabar restaurant near my home, and I visit almost every day—not just for the delicious food, but for the warmth and kindness of the people who run it.
I often enjoy their puttu with beef gravy, which is consistently flavorful and satisfying. Their snacks are also a highlight—especially the beef cutlet, palampuri, and kai pola. Each item has a distinct homemade touch that brings out the essence of Malabar flavors.
The restaurant is run by a wonderful couple—Mr. Dinesh Babu and his wife. They serve every customer with genuine care and kindness, which creates a welcoming atmosphere that keeps me coming back. Their attitude towards customers is even more impressive than the taste of the food—which says a lot
More than just a restaurant, Puttum Kuttiyum feels like a place built on love, care, and great food. Highly recommended if you're in or around Mugalivakkam!"
"One of the best Kerala food experiences! The beef dishes were outstanding — soft, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. You can truly taste the authenticity in every bite. Highly recommended!"
