"Savoury Sea Shell sits along one of Anna Nagar’s liveliest stretches, surrounded by places that have earned their crowds. Parking was scarce but a valet appeared like a small mercy. Inside, the ambience leaned more functional than beautiful, the kind of space that does not try to charm you but at least stays tidy. The waiter, to his credit, was warm and attentive, a lone bright spot before the food began its slow descent.
The chicken shawarma arrived first, a study in mediocrity. The bread was thicker than it had any right to be and the mayonnaise had staged a coup inside, overwhelming everything else. Edible, yes, but memorable only in how unmemorable it was. Dejaaj faa followed and firmly established the evening’s theme. The chicken was stubbornly dry and tough, though the flavour tried its best to salvage something from the ruins.
And then, miraculously, came the egg fried rice. We braced for a greasy street side rendition but were gifted a refined version instead. Asking for double egg turned out to be our smartest decision of the night. The rice, vegetables and eggs blended together beautifully, each spoonful comforting and aromatic. It was the one dish that made us pause and nod in approval. A rare burst of competence in an otherwise failing menu.
The quarter mandi returned us to reality. The chicken was desert dry again, the kind of dryness that makes you question your life choices. The rice was plain, devoid of depth, devoid of meatiness, devoid of anything resembling mandi. It tasted like two strangers forced to share a plate.
Falooda ended the night on the same note. A cheap wafer, tired nuts, stale tasting fruits crowding the middle and turning the experience into a fruit salad wearing a falooda costume. It was confused and overwhelming in all the wrong ways.
In the end, Savoury Sea Shell felt like a restaurant resting on memories of a better past. The prices reached high, the food did not bother to follow and the ambience certainly did not justify the bill. With so many better options nearby, complacency will come back to bite them sooner than they expect.

"⭐ Good Food, Great Vibes — Totally Worth a Visit! ⭐
The food was absolutely delicious! Tried their Veg Schezwan Fried Rice, Mandi Biryani, and Crab Soup — every dish was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. 😋 I genuinely loved the food!
The place was a bit crowded and loud, probably because it’s so popular — but honestly, it’s worth the buzz. The taste and quality definitely make up for it.
And guess what? I was lucky enough to spot serial actor Rishi Keshav sir dining there too! 😄
If you’re a foodie, this spot should definitely be on your list — great food, lively atmosphere, and a chance to bump into your favorite celebs! ✨"

"Sea Shell in Anna Nagar is a well-known and spacious restaurant, located in a prime area that naturally draws a large crowd. The restaurant is famous for its wide variety of cuisines, ranging from Indian dishes to Arabic grills, seafood specialties, and Continental options. With such an extensive menu, it’s a convenient choice for families and groups who want something for everyone.
The restaurant also provides valet parking, which is very useful given the busy streets of Anna Nagar. The interiors are large and lively, making it a good spot for gatherings.
However, there are a few drawbacks. Sea Shell is almost always crowded, especially during weekends and dinner time, which affects the overall comfort. The service tends to be slow, as the staff struggle to manage the rush. Another noticeable point is the pricing—many dishes are on the expensive side, and when combined with the wait time, it may not feel fully worth it for some diners.
That said, the food variety and prime location make it a restaurant people keep coming back to. If you don’t mind spending a bit more and waiting for service, it’s a good option for a hearty dining experience.”"

"Extremely Disappointed – Would Not Recommend
Had a terrible experience with both the Mutton Rogan Josh and Chicken Noodles.
The mutton was clearly frozen, which affected both the taste and caused stomach issues later. The quantity of meat was minimal — mostly bones, with barely any actual mutton. Totally not worth the price.
As for the chicken noodles, they were excessively oily and had a really unpleasant taste.
Overall, very poor quality. Before you eat here, I strongly recommend asking if they use fresh meat. This was a one-time visit for me — and definitely the last."
"I had chicken biryani (₹145) after offers via zomato. The quantity of the biryani was very good. It had two chicken pieces, an egg and sufficient quantity of rice. But however the taste was a let down for me. This was because the rice tasted bitter in a lot of places. I think this could be because of uneven distribution of excess amounts of cloves and cinnamon. It tasted bitter in so many places that I couldn't enjoy the biryani at all! Hopefully this is a one time rare incident and maybe since I am ordering for dinner it happened. But, nevertheless the restaurant should take appropriate care to ensure that incidents like this do not happen! Disappointing experience!"
