"We had a really satisfying meal at Lallummas, Karama. The sweet mango salad was fresh and light, the Ummi’s chicken fry was perfectly spiced and crisp, and the Kozhikodan chicken biriyani was fragrant and comforting. Soft porotta, delicate nice pathiri, and well-cooked beef ularthiyathu rounded off the meal beautifully. The pineapple kulukki was
refreshing, and the filter coffee was a lovely way to end.
A special mention to Anju, who served us with such warmth and care. Attentive, polite, and genuinely pleasant, she made the experience even better. A place that feels familiar, comforting, and worth coming back to."
"Very good value for money. The waiting servers particularly Anju was excellent.I would have liked to give a higher rating but the quality of meat served was subpar and it took the kitchen over 40 minutes to get the first dish out. That being said the food was quite tasty. The Chicken Chitulli in its coconut milk gravy was my pick. The Lallummas chicken biryani was also excellent and perfectly dumm’ed. The meat fell off the chicken. The rest was average but overall excellent when you look at the prices being charged.

"visited Lallumma’s Restaurant in Karama, located right beside the Emirates Post Office — super easy to find and perfect for both dine-in and takeaway. Parking was also convenient, with plenty of RTA spaces available right in front (and usually free, which is rare in Karama!).
The restaurant is run by Chef Fathima Arzoo, and you can truly taste her passion for authentic, homestyle Kerala cooking in every dish. All the food is made using traditional recipes with no artificial ingredients or added colours, which makes it feel just like home.
I ordered:
🍽️ Kizhi Parotta
🍗 Ummees Chicken Fry
🔥 Cheesy Butter Chicken Charcoal – their most famous dish and an absolute must-try!
🐟 Veetile Meen Curry – a comforting, homely-style fish curry.
Everything was flavorful, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The ambience is cozy and family-friendly, and the service was warm and welcoming.
They also have a party hall and offer outdoor catering, which is great for gatherings."
"It’s the best in Kerala cuisine. I had nool porotha, kerala porotha and meen king fish curry. Also had filter coffee. The fish curry was astonishingly yummy. Definitely coming again.
Staff are attentive and courteous. I was served by Hima.
Recommended! I arrived for dinner immediately after isha, so I got a seat easily and it immediately went full. So plan accordingly."
"I visited this restaurant because I love Indian food, but unfortunately the experience fell short of expectations.
The place is small but comfortable, however the food and service didn’t impress.
Food:
• Plain Biryani Rice
Honestly, it wasn’t biryani at all — it was just plain white rice with a bit of fried onions and coriander, and the texture was underwhelming and disappointing.
Rating: 1/5
• Butter Chicken
Very average. It didn’t have the authentic flavor or the creamy texture you would expect.
Rating: 1.5/5
• Prawn Tawa
The seasoning was nice with a pleasant Indian spice aroma, but unfortunately it didn’t save the dish from the strong fishy smell in the prawns.
Rating: 0/5
• Plain Paratha (AED 1.5) & Fluffy Paratha (AED 2.5)
There was no real difference in taste between the two. Both were very basic and not the special kind of paratha you’d expect.
Rating: 2/5
Service:
The service was extremely slow. We were the only table, yet the food took a long time, and even when I requested yogurt, it arrived only after I had already finished eating.
The staff were friendly, but the speed of service really needs improvement."
