"One masala dose- Rs.60 .
often crowded place where you might share a table and definitely experience a wait during peak hours. The ambiance is simple, old-school, and bustling, a testament to its popularity among locals and tourists alike. Don't expect modern luxury
Mylari Dosa is distinctly different from the typical thin, crispy dosas found elsewhere. It's a unique creation that's a cross between a thick pancake and a soft dosa, some might find it overhyped or prefer the crispier Bangalore-style dosas.
If you're in Mysore and value a taste of authentic tradition over modern amenities, this little eatery is well worth the visit. You'll likely find yourself ordering more than one!"
"The OG dosa place of Mysore , still competing with fancy cafés with expensive menu! Serving Plain dosa , masala dosa - just at 60rs. Dosas are served with extra butter on top and the aloo masala inside here is different than the regular restaurants. They serve only dosas in the evening (no coffee , tea as well) and they accept UPI payment.
Since this is a small and an
old place with minimal seating you may have to wait at times for your seating ! Please be mindful of that and be rest assured that the dosas will be worth the wait
They now an another outlet very close to the old one which serves mostly everything! Have attached an image of the place for reference"

"No visit to the heritage city of Mysore is complete without experiencing the legendary Mylari Dosa. After hearing and watching countless reviews, we finally got our chance, and it completely lived up to the hype!
This iconic establishment, with its wonderfully simple menu centered around Idli and its signature dosa, proves that less is truly more. The Mylari Dosa is not your typical crispy crepe; it is famously known for its unique, buttery, "cotton-soft" texture that practically melts in your mouth. You’ll find yourself galloping down plate after plate, constantly craving "just one more."
A Taste of History: Mylari has been serving this culinary masterpiece for over 85 years, since 1938. The original recipe, passed down through generations, is what gives the dosa its fluffy texture and distinct flavor, often cooked on a massive iron tawa over a wood fire and served with a dollop of white butter and a simple, flavorful coconut chutney (no sambar!).
The Craze is Real: The popularity is massive! Especially on weekend mornings, expect a truly "serpentine queue" as the crowd swells up—a testament to its unmatched reputation. Finding parking can be a challenge, but the payoff is worth the wait.
The buzz is that this legendary taste might soon be making its way to Bengaluru, with rumors of new spots opening in popular areas like JP Nagar and Indiranagar. This is one simple, historic, and unforgettable South Indian breakfast you absolutely must have!"

📝 Review:
If you’re in Mysore and love a good dosa, Vinayaka Mylari is a must-visit!
This humble eatery has been serving the same iconic dosa recipe since 1938, and they proudly stick to their roots! 💯
🍽️ Simple Yet Legendary
They serve just one type of dosa – but it’s the kind that leaves a lasting impression:
• Soft, fluffy dosa 🥞
• Mild and flavorful potato masala 🥔
• A generous slice of butter on top 🧈
Served with a side of coconut chutney – which is simple and average in taste, but it complements the dosa perfectly. 🌴✨
🕰️ A Taste of Tradition
The experience is old-school, minimalist, and filled with nostalgic charm. It’s not about luxury here – it’s about legacy and flavor.
👥 Crowd & Seating Info
This spot is very popular, especially on weekends and holidays.
We visited on a weekday, and even then, waited around 15–20 minutes.
• Seating is limited on the ground floor, but they do have a small second-floor seating area as well. Still, don’t expect too much space – it’s a quick-eat kind of place. 🪑⬆️
⸻
✅ What We Loved:
• Iconic, buttery dosa with timeless flavor
• Authentic taste unchanged since 1938
• Affordable and fast once seated
• Coconut chutney that complements well
❌ What Could Be Better:
• Very limited seating
• Long wait times during peak hours
• Only one item on the menu
• Chutney could be improved slightly
⸻
🔚 Final Verdict:
Vinayaka Mylari delivers a one-dosa wonder that speaks volumes. Simple, soft, and packed with history – this is a dish (and place) every dosa lover should experience at least once. 🧈❤️"
