"Had a wonderful experience at Banana Leaf, Kalyani Nagar. The staff is very soft-spoken, polite, and attentive, which makes the visit even more pleasant. They serve authentic South Indian food, and the original Sothi breakfast is a must-try. It’s great that they also offer lunch options, making it perfect for any time of the day.
Food is traditionally served on a banana leaf, which adds to the authentic and homely South Indian experience. The taste, quality, and presentation of the food are excellent. Overall, a great place for anyone who loves original South Indian flavors in a calm and welcoming atmosphere. 🌿🍽️"
"Banana Leaf – Kalyani Nagar
Authentic South Indian food lovers should definitely visit this place!
It’s one of the best South Indian cuisine experiences I’ve ever had. We tried a variety of dishes including Benne Podi Masala Dosa, Butter Garlic Idli, Benne Rava Masala Dosa, Thuppa Masala Dosa, Sri Lankan Style Idli, and Rawa Kesari — and every single one was absolutely worth trying.
The food was rich in authentic flavors, perfectly presented, and tasted truly amazing.
Highly recommended for anyone craving real South Indian delicacies! 🌿🍛"
"I recently visited Banana Leaf in Kalyani Nagar and had an absolutely delightful experience. This is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic South Indian flavors.
We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and everything was prepared to perfection:
Rassam: The perfect start—piping hot, tangy, and incredibly flavorful. It was truly authentic.
Paysam (Dessert): A wonderful, sweet finish. It was rich, creamy, and the perfect consistency.
Mysore Masala Dosa: Crisp, golden-brown, and the filling was spiced just right. Easily one of the best I've had in Pune.
Cheese Uttapam: A fantastic modern twist! The uttapam was fluffy, and the generous layer of cheese blended seamlessly with the savory base.
Benne Dosa: Melt-in-your-mouth soft and rich with butter—a true highlight from the Davangere region.
Stuffed Medu Vada: Crispy on the outside, soft inside, and the stuffing added a lovely, flavorful dimension.
The service was prompt and courteous, and the ambiance was comfortable and clean. If you're looking for quality South Indian food with authentic taste and great variety, look no further than Banana Leaf. Highly recommended!"

"Tried based on a friend suggestion.Good food but expensive is first impressions. Tried Idly vada and Podi ghee open masala dosa, rawa masala jain. Idly was excellent and vada was packing wow factor. Open dosa was good but can be better with good ghee quality. Rawa dosa was good. Filter coffee was good too but took long for serving. Chutney and Sambar quality was good.
Though staff were good people but not trained. Price point kept as premium but staff doesent meet that professionalism.parking is limited outside the restaurant. Exterior of the restaurant can be little clean. Feels like having good in the night due to inadequate lighting."

"We visited during lunch. For the sake of testing the variety, we ordered the thali. The spread was amazing, tastes very close to authentic (except the Rasam, maybe). Everything tasted fresh and made with care. The place was buzzing with families, causing a little bit of waiting queue (Sunday afternoon, of course). The ambience, decor and overall vibe of the place is very welcoming, made even warmer by the staff who are polite and attentive, despite the heavy footfall. Worth repeat visit. Next try will be my evergreen yardstick - the Masala Dosa."
