"Hidden away in Sarai Julena, right opposite The Surya Hotel, is Malabar Restaurant — one of the few spots in the area repping authentic Kerala food.
We rolled in around 9 pm for dinner and went all in: Buff Roast, flaky Malabar Porottas, a spicy tuna fry, and their signature Malabar Chicken Biryani. The buff roast was 🔥 — rich, spicy, and full of flavor. Paired with those soft, fluffy porottas that literally melt in your mouth, it was a match made in heaven. The tuna fry, loaded with onions and green chillies, wasn’t exactly my thing but still had that bold, coastal punch.
The biryani? Cooked with short-grain jeerakashala rice, super aromatic, and the masala was on point — though I wish the chicken had soaked up a bit more of that magic.
The vibe is clean, simple, and no-fuss — perfect for when you’re craving a legit Kerala food experience without overthinking it. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in South Delhi."
"Well my heart aches to give 2 star review to this place that used to be a gem. That original malabar taste which is still there, but you have shell out a premium for that. It is no more a pocket friendly go to options for local malayalis. Prices have sky rocketed in recent years."

"I ordered food from this restaurant today that is 29.12.2025 via Zomato (#7629017024). Biryani was too spicy & the vegetables in the biryani were undercooked.
Gobhi manchurian was so soggy & stale. The restaurant staff first told to gave a refund & then refused. Also the staff was highly unprofessional, ill mannered , Ill behaved & rude.
Cheaters cheaters & disgusting people, staff & restaurant."

"I placed an order from Malabar Restaurant on February 9, 2025 (Sunday) and was absolutely horrified by what I received. Among the items I ordered was sambar, and to my shock, I found a dead cockroach in it! This is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the restaurant’s hygiene standards."
"Have to say about the service, it was fab and at first I went there late for lunch, the Kerala rice was over, and they provideded with new rice in 10 min, the sambhar and curd were absolutely good, the side dishes were very homely and nice.
Had a black tea, the best.(2022)
I had went to Annie's Kerala kitchen the other day, and I feel I have to give Malabar restaurant more points for their meals.
I went again to the hotel, now they have increased the price of meals to rs 126.
But still worth it, for just to taste homely food for South Indians
It's becoming costly lately (2024)"
