"Just had a great meal from New Jaya Restaurant via Swiggy! The Puttu, Chicken Roast, papad, and tea/coffee were all delicious and came in generous portions."

"If you are at Palarivattom and crave authentic Kerala food with a homely feel, look no further. This is as old school as it gets in Kochi and will satisfy your need for meals cooked like your mom used to. Chandran chetten and his brother have designed and implemented the sensor based soap dispenser and taps. He will speak to you either before or during your meal and ensure that you are well attended to. Fancy your omlette well-done or rare? That's taken care of. Oh you would like the omlette made with duck-eggs? Of course. Maybe a black tea with ginger after breakfast? Sure, that's available. Maybe you crave fresh banana fritters (pazham pori) in the morning at 7:30 - even that is available. This is the closest you can get to your local tea-shop from your hometown but in Kochi city.
Post Covid, food is served in bio-degradable plates and lunch on plantain leaves, which you dispose once you finish (Edit: As on 2025 May, the steel plates are back!). The prices are very reasonable and one can have a hearty meal under Rs 100. They have recently added an on-premise biowaste processing plant for more efficient waste management and you can now find New Jaya on Swiggy. If it is a Saturday, make sure you reach at least by 1300 hrs to be sure of being served lunch. Would rate their breakfast and lunch spread higher than what is served for dinner. Modes of payment are only UPI and cash.
Parking is now a problem after the recent road work. The available space can hold only about five two wheelers, but free street parking may be available."
